Accessibility Statement

The Rental Lister is committed to making www.therentallisterlv.com usable by everyone, including people who browse with a screen reader, a keyboard only, magnification, or other assistive technology. This statement describes the standard we work to, what we have done, what we know still needs work, and how to tell us if something on the Site is in your way.

Our commitment

Finding a home and managing a rental property are things people need to be able to do independently. If part of this Site prevents you from reading a listing, submitting a form, or reaching a person, that is a defect on our side, and we want to hear about it so we can fix it. We treat accessibility as ongoing maintenance rather than a one-time project.

The standard we work to

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA as our target, which is the standard commonly referenced under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Current status: partial conformance. We are stating that plainly rather than claiming full conformance, because the Site has not yet completed a formal third-party accessibility audit. Parts of it have been reviewed and corrected; other parts, listed below, have not been verified to that standard.

What is in place today

  • A "Skip to main content" link on every page, so keyboard users can bypass the navigation.
  • Semantic headings and page landmarks, so assistive technology can navigate page structure.
  • Descriptive alternative text on the Site's primary images.
  • Text alternatives on our blog share links, which are plain links requiring no JavaScript and no cookie consent to use.
  • A cookie banner with clearly labeled Accept and Decline controls, reachable by keyboard.
  • Contact options that do not depend on a web form: you can reach us by phone or email, listed below.

Known limitations

We would rather tell you where the gaps are than let you discover them. As of the date below, we are aware of the following:

  • Color contrast and form labelling have not been formally audited. Individual text and form controls may not yet meet the WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratio or naming requirements. A full automated and manual audit is planned.
  • Third-party embedded services. Our rental listings search, the owner and resident portals, the spam protection on our forms, and embedded maps are operated by outside providers (AppFolio, Boom, and Google). We do not control their code and cannot guarantee their accessibility. If one of them blocks you, contact us and we will complete the task with you directly — by phone or email — rather than asking you to use the embed.
  • Older blog content. The Site includes articles migrated from our previous website. Some of those older posts have images with generic or missing alternative text, and we are working through them.
  • Documents. Any PDF or downloadable document offered on the Site may not be fully tagged for screen readers. Ask us and we will provide the content in an accessible format.

Reporting a barrier

If you encounter anything on this Site that you cannot access or use, please tell us. It helps if you can include the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser and assistive technology you were using — but please do not let missing details stop you from contacting us.

We aim to respond to accessibility reports within five business days. If a fix will take longer than that, we will tell you what we are doing and offer another way to complete what you were trying to do in the meantime.

Alternatives to using this Site

Anything you can do here, you can do by talking to a person instead. Rental inquiries, applications, rental analyses, maintenance requests, and owner questions can all be handled over the phone or by email at the contacts above. No part of our service requires you to use this website.

Enforcement and formal complaints

We would prefer the chance to fix a problem first. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may also file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division under the Americans with Disabilities Act at ada.gov.

Changes to this statement

We will update this page as we complete our formal audit and address the limitations listed above, including the date below.
